Faith in Action Volunteers Serving Seniors - Broome County Council of Churches

We are a group of dedicated volunteers who feel older adults should be valued and cared for with dignity. Our volunteers ensure that older adults receive the assistance necessary to help them stay in their homes and live a healthy and viable life. We offer opportunities for providing transportation, assisting with grocery shopping or calling and/or visiting isolated seniors. We also have volunteers who provide administrative help in our offices or work with staff to facilitate one of our community programs. One of the best things we do, though is provide connections between people. Assisting an older adult can result in forming a rewarding relationship and finding a new friend!

Faith in Action Volunteers assists older adults (60+) in Broome County to help them remain independent in their own homes. Our volunteers provide medical transportation, grocery shopping, reassurance calls, visits and minor home repairs. Through several community initiatives, we work to keep seniors mobile, healthy and engaged to enrich their quality of life.
