Project Title: Shelter Painting & Support Project
Organization: Broome County Humane Society
Project Description:
We are seeking 10–15 volunteers to assist with a painting project at our shelter. Volunteers will help freshen up designated areas to improve the environment for our animals and staff.
In addition to painting, volunteers may also assist with general shelter tasks such as dishes, laundry, and light outdoor cleanup. Flexibility is appreciated, as shelter needs can change throughout the day.

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Number of Volunteers Needed:
10–15
Volunteer Responsibilities:
* Painting walls and/or surfaces (supplies provided)
* Assisting with dishes and laundry
* Light cleaning and organization
* Possible outdoor cleanup (weather permitting)
Requirements / Physical Abilities:
* Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods
* Comfortable with light to moderate physical activity
* Willingness to be flexible and assist where needed
What to Wear / Bring:
* Comfortable clothing that can get dirty (paint-safe)
*Gloves for outdoor cleanup, weeding etc.
*Outdoor tools
*Closed-toe shoes
Inclement Weather Plan:
If outdoor cleanup is not possible due to weather, volunteers will focus on indoor tasks such as painting, cleaning, and organizing within the shelter.
Additional Notes:
The shelter environment is dynamic, and tasks may shift based on immediate needs. Volunteers should be prepared to adapt and assist in different areas as needed.
