The Ray of Light Mentor Program pairs dedicated volunteers with youth in the agency's care. Mentors provide one-on-one support, positive reinforcement, and guidance to help a child build confidence and develop essential life skills.
Mentors are consistent, caring adults, friends, and role models to youth. They engage in meaningful activities like reading, sports, and exploring the community. They also help empower youth to navigate challenges and realize their potential.
To become a mentor, one must be 21 years of age or older. They must be compassionate, patient, and reliable. Mentors must be able to commit to volunteering for 6 months- 1 years, meeting a minimum of two times per month. Onboarding mentors must undergo background clearance checks and training.
