When disaster strikes—whether it’s a home fire, flood or storm—your community needs you. As a local disaster responder, you’ll be there to provide comfort, shelter and support to families in need—right in your own neighborhood.

What you’ll do:
- Respond to local emergencies like home fires and
severe weather
- Provide food, shelter and emotional support to
affected families
- Be a part of a team of American Red Cross volunteers
Bringing hope to families affected by disaster.
Requirements:
- Available to sign up for shifts (4, 8 or 12 hours)
- Able to travel within 60 miles of your home
- At least 16 years old
- Flexible and adaptable in fast-changing situations
