Volunteer: Meals on Wheels Volunteers

Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteers, age 18 and older, to deliver meals to clients once a week. Routes are available throughout Broome County. Meals on Wheels provides warm, nourishing meals Monday through Friday. Many Meals on Wheels participants are homebound. As volunteers deliver meals, they provide a check on each participant's well-being. All Health Department & CDC guidelines are followed. Volunteer: Classroom Volunteers needed for Foster Grandparent Program

The Foster Grandparent Program is looking for volunteers 55 or over to become a classroom mentor in a local elementary school, Head Start program, or daycare center. A classroom "grandparent" works one on one with a child sharing in classroom activities such as reading books together, practicing the alphabet, and solving math problems. No prior experience in a classroom is needed! You will receive a stipend of $4.00 for each hour that you volunteer, plus travel reimbursement and a free lunch at school each day.
