Disaster Spiritual Care Volunteer
Support survivors with compassionate, interfaith spiritual care.
The American Red Cross is seeking qualified chaplains, clergy members, and spiritual care providers to serve individuals and families experiencing disaster.
As a Disaster Spiritual Care volunteer, you will:
- Provide emotional and spiritual support in times of crisis
- Help clients draw on their own beliefs and traditions
- Partner with local faith communities
- Support Red Cross disaster responders
- Deploy locally and, with experience, nationally
Qualifications:
- A disaster spiritual care provider in good standing with a National VOAD member organization.
- A Board-certified chaplain.
- A professional chaplain (paid or volunteer) endorsed by their organization.
- An endorsed leader of a local faith community or organization.
- Successfully completed the DSC Screening evaluation with a DSC Regional Program Lead or Division Advisor.
