Needs From: United Way of Broome County

We are moving some last items out of the old Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial UMC to be sold at a tag sale. Volunteers will at our old JC location lifting and moving items out of the church. Nothing is tremendously heavy, but we do have some steel bike frames to be moved into a truck.

Volunteers will be hosted in a conference room to sticker vouchers with labels for the Produce RX (PRx) program.

We are looking for volunteers to help us wash windows on the first floor only and general outside clean up at 257 Main Street, Binghamton offices.

For inclement weather, the inside windows could be cleaned.

We've recently updated our education labs at Roberson Museum and need help setting up the new space! Volunteers will be working with our Education staff to move items into the labs.

Please dress in clothing comfortable for movement and wear comfortable shoes. Volunteers will be lifting and moving boxes up to 15 pounds and pushing carts.

The outdoor garden area of our new Clinton Street facility is in need of some TLC before the warmer weather arrives.

Rooms and offices at HCA's new facility in Binghamton could use a fresh coat of paint as we look to continue expanding and growing our services.

Help us keep the TechWorks! looking fresh! Painting/wall prep needed to cover a graffiti tag. Gardening includes removing small trees/big shrubs (supplies provided).

In case of inclement weather, help us inventory and organize TechWorks! artifacts upstairs.

Landscaping & Planting at Boys Group Home

Join Truth Pharm for a hands-on, community-driven event in honor of the United Day of Action, where education meets action.

Instead of just talking about harm reduction, participants will actively take part in the work that keeps people alive and supported. Attendees can choose between interactive stations, including assembling care kits for community distribution, preparing and organizing harm reduction supplies, and contributing to a collaborative zine centered on real stories, stigma, and survival.

Throughout the event, participants will engage with the realities of drug use and harm reduction through lived experiences, creative expression, and meaningful conversation. Whether you’re packing a kit, writing a message of support, or creating art, every action directly contributes to building a safer, more compassionate community. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to show up, learn, and take action.

We are hoping to get volunteers to wash the windows and general clean up around the grounds at our shop on 331 Main St Binghamton.

Help PAL prepare the building and grounds for PAL Camp 2026 with several jobs: 

1. Plant flowers

     a.) Help plant flowers around the flag pole and around the PAL grounds

2. Continue with lakeside clean up of the fishing/kayaking area and the north end.

    a.) Picking up downed limbs and rocks that could damage the mower

     b.) Remove brush to have better fishing, boating access, and better . 

3. Clean building

    a.) Wash windows

    b.) Sweep/vacuum building.

4. Move Kayak's to the lakeside

     a.) Wash off and move 28 kayaks to the lake side
