Who We Are
NeST (Network for a Sustainable Tomorrow), formerly known as the Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition (BRSC), was formed in mid-2008 following a series of community forums on sustainability and a community visioning session.
NeST connects with countless organizations, businesses, and individuals through its events, programs, listservs, and social media.
Organized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, NeST has been working to follow-through on its promise of improving the quality of life in the eastern Southern Tier of New York State today without compromising the quality of life of future generations.
What We Do
NeST conducts education and outreach about home energy efficiency, community solar, workforce development, and a range of other issues. We are involved in climate policy, housing security initiatives, and are currently starting up a positive news channel. Through our HeatSmart Southern Tier program, we connect residents to local contractors to make their homes more comfortable, efficient and affordable. NeST is dedicated to promoting energy equity, housing security and economic justice in the Southern Tier and beyond.
